Kids can create their own deck box for storing their Reading Dragons cards to add a personal touch to their collection. This project invites participants produce something creative and functional and is a great library activity.

What You’ll Need
Before diving into the crafting fun, gather all your supplies. Here’s a quick list to help you get started:
Printable deck box template (printed on card stock)
The template prints 2 boxes to a page.
Coloring materials (markers, colored pencils, or crayons)
Scissors
Glue or double-sided tape
Ruler (optional for clean edges)
Glitter and Stickers (optional)
Downloading and Printing the Deck Box Template
Download the printable deck box.
Print on card stock.
Make sure your print settings are:
Black and White
Single Sided
Fit to Printable Area
There are 2 deck boxes per page, so I recommend cutting them apart beforehand.
Color, Cut, and Fold
Have participants color and decorate their deck box before cutting it out.
Carefully cut out the box along the solid lines. Patience is essential here; taking your time can make a big difference in how neat your box will look and how easy it will be to put together.
Next, fold along the dotted lines. If you're looking for a crisp finish, a ruler can help ensure clean creases. After folding, use glue or tape to secure the flaps. If you used liquid glue wait for it to dry before putting cards inside.
Happy crafting!
